Can't get out of the desert! ARGH!
Ok having joined CPF after Pelican changed the M6 Lithium, I had no idea that I would lose my lovely adjustable beam M6 Lithium when I sent it in for warranty service. They had QUICK service and were very nice on the phone, but they sent me a DIFFERENT LIGHT than I sent in, just with the same model number. GOD I wish companies wouldn't keep catalog/model numbers the same when they change the product. Also my two spare lamps aren't going to work for it! They changed those too... ANYWAY, I have questions for folks.

First off, is there any reason I should keep the old style lamp modules? These don't have a reflector attatched and screw in seperately.

Also, is there any way to upgrade the M6 Lithium?

How do you change lamps now?

Anyway, I like that Pelican tried so hard to get me a brand new flashlight, unfortunately it wasn't the same as the one I sent in which I really liked, I miss the adjustable focus (although I DID usually keep it on a tight focus like the new one came from the factory) and I'm irritated that my old lamp assemblies are useless thus forcing me to buy new ones. Also, imagine the confusion that causes when trying to order something from a retailer who might or might not have older stock and two DIFFERENT items have the same catalog number.

take a look at the guide I wrote recently(link in sigline).... It's still in need of refinement, but covers most of the details you will need to know to run on rechargeable Li-Ion cells..

At the top of the guide, the picture shows a lot of D26 style lamps, which, as it would be, look pretty similar to the NEW version of the P-M6 lamp assembly, I have read reports that Surefire style 26mm lamps like those pictured, will drop in and make contact and work in that body. I have D26 configurations listed below the guide. I would still recommend confirmation from an M6 owner to be sure.
