Just wanted to share some info on a mod I did yesterday. I have wanted a nice Mag 2D for my BoB for a while. I wanted it to run on alks and with a decent runtime. The problem with boostcircuits is efficiency, and I wanted a powerful yet efficient solution.
While searching for parts I happened to come across the SKU25505 over at DX, and realized that it had a 88% efficiency at around 3V, but only a 0,45A output. However someone stated that they might work in parallell, so I ordered two of them and made a sandwich for running my P4U2SWOH in the little MagLite...
I have no tested values, but the finished result seems almost as bright as my 3D MagLite running the same LED at 1050mA... Very nice, and very efficient
