Just wondering how many Mag 6C lovers out there?

IMHO; this is the ultimate dual purpose light (torch/baton)! :twak:I have quite a bit of D cell Mags but they feel too robust in the hand to wield effectively in a defensive situation. The C cell lights fit my medium hands perfect.

Current project is to covert the 6C to the Philips 5761 bulb. Only problem so far is that the bi-pin sockets I have been using from FM don't fit the older 6C's switch housing. I didn't have that issue with the 2C , 5C, or the 6D. I will try to exchange the housing for one of the newer ones.

If there are others out there who share my feeling of the 6C; please share your experiences with this now discontinued, rare, and awesome light.:twothumbs

Thanks to Flipside for making my 6c dream come true!

Oooh, you got one too? :naughty: I never thought about putting a new head on one, that's a good idea. I never wanted a 6c back when they were making them, now that they stopped I have been searching high and low for a long time. I'm sure some sort of gnarly project will ensue.

Just finished my Philips 5761 conversion on my 6C. Awesome!:twothumbs

Using Nimhs and its putting out about 1700-1900 lumens at 7.7-7.9 volts.

Parts list:

FM 10.5mm dual function reflector
boro lens
KUI Strike Bezel
FM SS bi-pin socket
6x1.2v Tenergy Nimh cells
Philips 5761 bulb
FM polished end cap

Had to combine switch parts from the older 6C version with the newer C Mag versions. Wasn't that hard. FM bi-pin sockets wouldn't fit in the original 6C's bulb holder. I replaced it with the newer bulb holder version from a 2C Mag I had laying around.

It feels devestating in the hand. Blinding bright too!

Ya'll might want to have this thread moved over to the flashlight collecting forum... Might get more play over there.

BTW - glad you're liking your 6C's!

Hello,

I love my 6C as well. It was my first powerful flashlight, and it still is powerfull and has lots of throw. To me, it always seemed that the 6C could be focussed more tightly than a 6D.

I haven't used it for 2 years now as I need 6 new NiMH cells (or NiCD) and they cost more than a new fenix...

Kind regards,
Joris

22Hornet;
Convert it to a M@g85 or M@g61 like I have. You won't be disapointed!:D

Flipside; How do I move threads to other forums?

You should come to New Zealand we have hundreds of them you just have to go into certain shops & you can get as many as you want, (house of knives, outdoor shops, etc).

Dr Jekell,

You should buy them up and sell them here on CPF. I know you wouldn't have a problem getting rid of them. They are getting really hard to find now.

That would be nice to do but the main problem would be the initial $$$$.

Why not ask for the money first? I'd be interested in 1 including whatever it costs you to post one to the UK - they are silly expensive here. Best price I've seen for a 6D is £28 including delivery - the biggest C device i can find is 4C.

So I'd be interested if you can be bothered with the effort of posting the things around the globe.

If some one wanted to organize a group buy & get the money together, to me & and to distribute them to the purchasers I would not mind getting them but I don't have the time to be getting them & sending them one at a time.

PM sent.

So, Will, are you going to be dippin' into your personal stock to fill the orders?

Funny. No, these will come from far away (from me anyway)-from above mentioned source. Waiting for more info to be gathered. Should have more info by the weekend.

I've got a 7c, can I join? Surge, if you're planning on attending the Flashapalooza get-together next week, I hope to see your modded 6c. I'm really curious about that phillips bulb.
