Mag Light Problems

Hi I have a 3 D cell light with a high temp socket mod. I am using 14 2/3 A Nimh. I have a 50 watt MR 16 bulb. It lights up well and within 5 sec it dims down very quickly. What am I doing wrong. Thanks

you may have some bad cells or simply a bad connection....can you explain how is your battery carrier/pack made? how old are your cells? whcih brand?

The battery pack was made by batteries +. I do not know the brand. Generic? I will take it to them and have them test the cells. Also connectors as well?
There are 4 groups of 3 cells + 1 on each end.

that's the best thing to do...if the pack is ok than you'll have to check switch/socket contacts

What are you using to charge the pack?

Have you done a good break-in cycle or 2? (trickle charge at a ~0.1C rate for around 16+ hours)?

The pack might be fine, just needs to be balanced up to a full charge nice and slow.

Other possibilities: a weak connection somewhere, when conductive metals heat up, their resistance increases.
