Well, it's official, tick season has started <groan>, tonight i pulled a partially-engorged wood tick off my cat, i used one of those "Ticked Off" slotted spoon thingies and the annoying parasite came out cleanly, mouthparts and all
the wretched critter was struggling vainly in the vicelike grip of the Ticked Off spoon, but was solidly trapped, and I, having a scientific mindset, determined that experimentation was in order.....
Tick Vs E1L-SR; nothing, it just struggled against the bright light
Tick Vs 5mW Greenie; Tick was annoyed by the powerful light
Tick Vs. A2 Aviator; Tick struggles uncomfortably in the heat bath from the incan bulb....
Tick Vs. MagCharger; Help!! I'm Dessicating, I'm Dessicating, what a world, whataworld.........
yep, about 30 seconds of exposure to a stock MC killed the frakking parasite, the tick was held about 1/4" from the MC window, I'd imagine it was the Infrared that killed the (partially) bloody thing...
I *HATE* ticks, whoever invented ticks needs to be FIRED........out of a cannon, into the sun.....
I know the MC is no USL, but barring my Thor, it's the most powerful light i own at the moment, so it had to do
I'd imagine a USL would cause it to burst into flames.... or at least pop after about 1/2 second of exposure....
