My lightly used Mag HID won't light up.
It flashes as though it's trying to ignite.
Not hearing the high-pitched whine, but not sure that this light made that sound.

Here is an image of the bulb.

I kinda hate to purchase a bulb if the ballast is bad.

Seems that it shouldn't be cloudy like that, but I don't remember for sure...?

Thanks!

I wish I had a spare for you to try out! I had the same problem, I could see the initial spark jump the gap, but was unable to maintain the spark. Mine was a bad lamp. At the time I had a spare :shakehead

I found if I did multiple starts, I could get it to maintain the arc once in a blue moon, but it wasn't worth all the ware and tare to the ballast, so I installed the new lamp. I try to not let anyone strike it without telling them to leave it on till it's warmed up.

I'm glad you got your light fixed!! Is the Underwater Kenetics bulb a 10 or 14 Watt? That is a Welch Allyn NGX Solarc just rebranded (now a division of Ushio north america).

God job you got it fixed, HID mags are amazing!
I think the UK light cannon 100 uses the same 10w solarc bulb (500 lumens) as used in this HID mag.
Ushio brought the Solarc "brand" lamps from Welch Allyn a few months ago.
