What's available for the 2C Maglite?
I'd like to keep the focusing function if possible.
I've heard there are some problems with the TerraLux drop in. Does it work well with only 2 cells?
Malkoff is expensive. (Can you still focus with the Malkoff drop in?)
What about Multi-LED mods? Are those available as kits? Or, is there anyone out there who can do the mod for me?

I have also read about the 2-cell TerraLux TLE-6EXB module having some problems. My solution was to get the 3-6 cell TerraLux module. I'm using it in my 2C M@g with a pair of Ultrafire 18500 rechargeable cells. I then just made a spacer to adapt the narrower 18500's into the 2C tube, and I shortened the spring a bit.

It works well. The TLE-6EX module is pretty bright. It is focusable, but when focused as a flood, it has a donut shape (black center).

Update - I just read through most of the thread on the TLE-6EXB. It sounds like the issue was limited to the initial production and has been since fixed. There is some ongoing debate on the elegance of the TL implementation, but the units seem like they are working as designed.

teh EXB will work if it's attached properly to the alloy mounting surround. I think most of the problems are b/c they become separated from surround and it gets limited heat sinking. get and EXB, buy some thermal epoxy so that you can reattach it, get a magCTower heat sink mod (http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=168722&highlight=magCTower) for the C cell body and some thermal compound for the install. should be a pretty nice light.
