I have an older 3 D cell mag lite that I had to take apart and clean (battery leak). I noticed there was some kind of lube on the moving parts of the switch, what should I re-lube with?

Only thing I would think that would be is dielectric grease, and I really dont know why that would be in there.

Mag-lite suggests pure jelly petroleum (vaseline).

Some forums I'm a member of take a negative approach to the lack of searching. Me I could care less but I do hate seeing the "I've got a stuck battery in my Mag" thread every couple weeks.
