Maxabeam...

The Generation 1 & 2 are less. Hard to be sure of the exact number of candlepower, since it depends on the focus position of the reflector...but it is why if someone is looking to buy one used, look for Gen 3 on serial number plate.

That assumes we all know what electrical grid system is used in Singapore. Alas, I didn't memorize that detail for every country.

230volts 50hz used in Singapore so maxabeam charger should work fine, some of the maxabeam chargers have a switch to set it between 100 - 220volt so just make sure its set to 220volt.

also here is a link to the peakbeam site who make the maxabeam they have lots of info on there to help you out.

I recently had the opportunity of purchasing an almost new Maxabeam here in Australia for Aus$1950 (US$1500). I let it go as it was a Gen 2.
Was this a good move or should have I snapped it up? to import a new Gen 3 from the states would probably cost me about Aus$5000

Oh well, I'll just have to stick with my vechile (roof) mounted Lightforce 170 :ohgeez:

Was it a deluxe edition? Mine is a GII too, basic package.
The way i see it, there is not much difference between GII and GIII if ur never seen a maxabeam before.

I think that's right. The first thing to learn is how to use the button toggle to program the 30 sec run on high when pushed, which is in the handbook.

The Gen2 will have the same "blow your mind" pencil thin intense beam "WOW" factor. True the Gen3 is a little brighter, and better to get if you can...but I wouldn't bother for the higher amount that lightforce2 describes. It's more a psychological issue of knowing that you got the best/latest than a practical concern.

They have even further enhanced the Gen3 by searching for slightly better performing bulbs among their stock and have another high performance model.

You would only regret Gen2 if you were standing next to someone with Gen3, so I say don't sweat it.
