I just received my LED tower module in the mail. It was made by milkyspit.

Specs:
- P4 Seoul emitter USW0H running at 1A
- Aluminum tower

The idea: replace the standard MN15 and MN16 bulbs for my M3T with a long running, efficient, ~200-240 lumen LED. Now I have the best of both worlds: incan for those times when color rendition is key, LED for longer runtimes. It is regulated- I should get at least an hour off of 2x17500s. I do a lot of night hiking and geocaching, so I was looking forward to an updated tower module to use for those times I want a longer-throwing LED.

It is one of those items I wish that Surefire offered. I've owned a couple custom tower modules in the past, and felt it was time for another.

I'm impressed! I'm waiting for it to get dark out to try it in the woods. The construction appears top-notch and it is very bright! Tight, bright throw with a fairly bright and large spill- love the Surefire reflectors! :) If/when I get the chance I'll do some outdoor beamshots.

I'm running it in a Surefire M3T with a SW01 "fatty" tailcap. I forgot how much I missed this great little light! J The SW01 is so easy to use, even when I'm wearing gloves (brrr, it gets cold out in the woods this time of year).

I took the family to our vacation house in Delaware, so I brought along a few toys too. I'm hoping to get the chance to do a little hiking while here.

Great pictures. Have you had a chance to take any picture with the beam outside?

Not yet. It just got dark here. After I feed the kids and get everyone settled in I'll see if I can get a few free minutes to take some outdoor beamshots.

Thanks for the kind comments! I rushed to get the pictures while babysitting the kids, in between conference calls. Sigh.:devil:

I'll PING milkyspit to see what the maximum voltage is. It should...

Thanks! Cuz if this works for the M6, I'm guessing the runtime would be upwards of 3-4 hours...and at 200-240 lumen...that would be great and make the cost of using an M6 almost a non-issue.

Per milkyspit, this TM is good for 5-16v, so the 9v (M6) is fine.

Hope that helps!:)

Yes, would work on the M6... this particular TM will run nicely on any voltage between 5V and 16V. On the M6 in particular, when running the stock battery pack with primary cells, in theory you should get roughly 5h36m, with the vast majority of that runtime in regulation.

Chronos...Thank you so much for showing the pictures and talking about the tower. I believe that this tower will be very well received by the M6 community. I mean, over 5 hours of regulated light...over 200 lumen!!! And let us not forget how far the light will throw since it is inside the turbohead! Wow!

So now time to PM/email Milky and see how much this baby's gonna set me back! :grin2:

Here are a couple of (poor) shots at night. The target is the side of a manger scene about 100' away from the camera, across a dark parking lot.

I was surprised that the output to my eye was so close between the MN16 and the LED tower module. The MN16 has a distinct "oval" shaped beam pattern. I held the light so the oval was wider across/horizontally. These are on 3 fresh 123s.

The MN16:

Thanks for the awesome pictures, Chronos! I just ordered one from Milkyspit...it'll be a wonderful match for my M6! Happy Holidays! :santa:

Ooooooofff ...

Great pics, I want M6sssssss and all the toys..... around here, though i have some, but i want more..... :)

I have M2, T20, L4, Magcharger, Gladius, 10x, WE Thunder, Lightbox and hopefully M6 :)

Now if someone had something comparable to this to slip into an E1E host, woo-woo!
I like the towers Koala is making, but 30 lumens doesn't cut it much anymore with all the small-and-brights out there.

I always wanted a M6 because of its form factor and cool looks, but never took the plunge due to excessive battery usage. I will have to rethink getting a M6 using Milky's tower! Approx 5 hours requlated with approx 200 lumens is hard to beat!:)

Hubba-hubba-hubba!!

Maybe it is time we pressure milkyspit to do a small run of these. I bet there would be a lot of demand. :twothumbs
