I bought a Spyderco Native ($40 at Wally World although they are supposedly revamping their knife selection so who knows if they'll continue to sell them) after looking at the mini grip. Both are nice lights but at a fair amount less the Spyderco felt just as good and has been an excellent EDC knife.
Lighthound is a great seller, however, and the grips are universally well liked so I don't think you'll go wrong if that is what you have your heart set on!
I have a Griptillian I would hope the Mini Griptillian is more balanced than the Griptillian. I personally can't stand an unbalanced knife which is why I never use my Griptillian. Other than that it is a great knife I love the Axis lock. I wish they could incorporate it in the HK 14460 Blitz, but the design of the Nitrous assist would interfere with the Axis lock.
I think the Benchmade griptilian is a popular knife for a reason, the price is good, the quality is good, people love the axis lock, and there is just so many varieties of the griptilian to fit almost any need...You got big or small, different colors, different blade steels, thumbstud or thumb whole, different blade styles, and now even different grinds...
After playing with both Grips, I've totally lost interest in the Mini-Grip. The full sized Griptilian comes in a much acceptable size for the tasks I use a folder for. If you have girl's hands, go for the Mini, but if you want a real knife, don't get anything less than the full Grip or the fixed-blade Grip.
Just my 02 cuts.
Cheers.
Oh yeah, Lighthound has them. But in case they ran out of stock, there is always the excellent www.knifeworks.com/ store which also ships internationally.
