MINI M*G AA X 2

Thanks, I may grab a dozen of the Neo T5. I was wondering to go with 15 or 30 lumen low.Was curious what 15 looks like.

I have a SureFire E1e, which is also rated (by SureFire) at 15 Lumens. It is dramatically brighter than a Maglite AA. Unfortunately, you cannot always compare specifications provided by different vendors and draw meaningful conclusions.

Re: Mini-Mag 2AA Lumens

Very good question, FastCar.

I've seen a vendor (whose name sadly escapes me)
quoting a value of 5.3 Lumens.

And (of course) the just-mentioned link to Mag's website lists 15.2 Lumens.

Perhaps the 15.2 figure is "Peak Lumens", with brand-new batteries. (for a matter of seconds)

- and -

Perhaps the 5.3 figure is "Lumens at Bulb's Design Voltage",which (i understand) is at 2.5 volts.

Thus, both of these figures are indeed "accurate".

But the Lumen value that YOU will likely encounter
will probably be in single-digits.

Just my opinion. Hope this is helpful.

From the Flashlight Reviews they mention a way to get the rough amount of lumens.

As a result, I was able to get what appears to be a much more accurate Lumen calculation factor. Here it is:
LED lights: multiply the Overall Output chart number x 1.39
Incandescent lights:
multiply the Overall Output chart number x 1.62
Maglite MiniMag AA (Incand) Overall Output: 5.80
5.80x1.62=9.396 Lumens

Surefire E1E (Incand) Overall Output: 10.50
10.50X1.62=17.01 Lumens
