Mircrofire Patrol Tactical K5 3500

That 6500K beam (same as the previous Microfire Warrior) is a deal breaker for me.

Unfortunately, it seems that MF and Wolf-Eyes are sort of clueless when it comes to HID color temp. Perhaps they have thought about warmer bulbs and their customers just don't typically care or ask for warmer temps. Blue is cool, don't cha know. ;)

Yea, after a long wait for something new and improved I too was hoping for something better. The run time is quite a bit longer and there is a handle mounted on/off button with a larger head.

Any of those (3) alone for me personally is enough justification to buy it since I use it every day or night at work. The run time and relocated on/off button are big improvements imo.

I actually like the fact that it is longer to. Again, for me personally a longer light works out a little better me at work since I can use it as an impact weapon if need be.

That was one thing I missed about the Streamlight as it was long enough to strike someone during a deadly force encounter if need be. I just can't seem to get that feeling with the MF K3500 since it is considerably shorter.

But, it being shorter fit perfectly in my rear pocket of my pants so it being shorter isn't all bad. The (55) minute run time come up quicker then I would sometimes realize and since the light does not dim as a Streamlight would there is no warning when it shuts off and that was a bad thing at times especially if tracking a suspect.

Which is why I bought a small Surefire for my belt as a back-up. A (90) minute run time will definately help.

I guess Polarian isn't going to come out with something smaller that Law Enforcement could use on a daily basis vs. one that is mounted to a weapon. Very disappointing cause if they had I would buy it in a heartbeat at any price. So I guess I will give this one a shot.

Those are nice improvements but I always thought it was neat that the K3500 had the title as the smallest 35W handheld. I'm assuming that they've gone to 6 x 18650's which will place it in the same category as the Oracle/Tactical. Considering the value of the later two lights, I'd really have to debate with myself whether the Microfire would provide anything extra, especially considering the inferior color temp.

I looked at the Oracle and there is little about that light that is Tactical. It's quite large actually. I would say its a smaller version of the AE 24 size.

The MF color temp does suck I agree. Being small is great and works well I agree but being a little longer will suit me better cause I will beable to fit it under my arm better on MV stops. The on/off button in the rear is not very tactical in reality so being relocated to the side is actually more tactical imo.
