Okay, i recently acquired a vital gear FB1 body and I need something to light it up. It came with a E1E head and I know about the incan mods but I want an LED in there.

I would actually prefer modding a different e series head if I can find one, I heard Aleph has one but I can't seem to find it, I am open to suggestions and opinions.

What are my choices.

Thanks in advance.

In my opinion, one of the easiest and most cost effective mods for the E-series is a KL1 with a Seoul and a 20mm Reflector.

KL1's can be found between $30-$45.00 in the marketplace.
The Seoul is a direct swap with the LUX III and an McR20S reflector drops in place of the TIR optic. There is a small black ring that needs to be sectioned and inserted before the reflector.

Theres a thread here somewhere.....

I'd recommend just getting a replacement LED E series head. My OpticsHQ E2 head is amazingly bright.

Thanks a lot DeFab, I'll keep my eyes open for a cheap kl1?

Also I forgot to add I will be using RCR's only, so no primary usage.

I think this is the thread DaFABRICATA was referring to. I have been trying various methods to get the head apart but it is being REALLY stubborn. I have the back ring that holds the electronics in there loose, and now I can't get much purchase to get the rest of it apart. Anyway, if you can get the head apart, it looks pretty easy.

Hey thanks a lot, that must be the one.

BTW, if you give up on that head, please let me know, I am still looking for one.

You could also drop one of koala and yclo's Rebel towers into the E1e head.
