I've been trying to figure this one out for awhile now. I had removed the head from the body quite some time ago but could not figure out how to remove the reflector/driver/LED assy form the head. I tried many things to no avail including heat. I gave up until last week. I decided it was comming apart one way or another! I made a jig to press out the innards and started heating it up. I got this sucker so hot all the components fell off the driver board! Well, I got it apart and did some damage doing it. I got it so hot I even cooked the emitter! No problem, I had a new Seoul U2SWOH to go in it and one of those KD 5 mode drivers. Some copper plumbing parts, aluminum shimstock, and Arctic alumina epoxy and she's all back together. After all that work, the end results are less than spectacular,:shakehead The KD driver is supposed to deliver 1A to the LED but I'm not convinced. Here are a few pics. Sorry I didn't document the entire process.

The LED and driver are under the brass cone shaped thing which is pressed onto the reflector.

I buggered up the end of the brass part so I cut the end off and soldered in a copper 1/2 in plug, drilled a hole in the end for the center contact insulator.

I polished the reflector a little and got a little tighter spot.
I have a different driver to try and maybe even a Cree Q5.
