This is an early Peak Night Patrol..uses a seoul led, narrow
optic and 18650 body. The new ones are U2bin seouls and a higher
voltage buck circuit...new circuit goes up to 13v i think Curt mentioned.
i figured i'd upgrade the led...tossed in a K2 TFFC 200 from Fred's sale in the marketplace.
Did this mod last month..but didnt take pics until today.
the extremely low VF of this K2 led seems to have forced the driver
into bypass mode and is direct driving the led off an AW 18650.
?
anyway it's pulling 2.56amps from the batt now.
and it's brighter than any single die light i own.
so i grabbed a 3D Mag with a direct driven P7 seeing 2.72 amps in its
current state of charge..for a friendly comparison.

ya..that's bright.
2.56 amps!!! i wonder how much is going to the led. gotta be around 2.2amps...maybe the full monty if it's in full DD. :shrug:

wall shot. the K2 in the optic has almost no spill..cant even see any spill vs
the spill of the p7mag. hotspots look comparible, but overexposed.
the tint and throw of the K2 in this optic is awesome. the p7 is csxoi
Lower exposure to compare the hotspots. very similar brightness.
after 2 minutes unattended it's pretty hot. have to hold the head in your
hand to keep it managable..but the K2 has been holding up at this current
level. hasnt gone poof yet
ive used it on a handful of 20 min dog walks
