Seems to me there would be a (big) market for a multi-beam output.
1. Hi-Power HID pointing straight ahead. (but not intended for full-time illumination)
2. About a 5W LED pointing straight ahead for full-time use. (maybe adjustable focus from flood-to-spot)
3. About a 5W LED "flood" at about 20 degree lower deflection for walking.
4. A Florescent (flood) pointing straight down to illuminate "feet" while walking. (Also for use in a tent or on a picnic-table.)
(5. An additional feature could also be a 1W LED-flood "rear" facing, at about a 45 degree down deflection, to illuminate trail for someone "following" you.)
All separate switches for singular or multiple simultaneous operation.
I would also like to see an (illuminated) compass, and AM-FM radio included.
I have seen "junk" lights with some of these features, but none of good quality.
I would like to see the biggest battery capacity reasonably possible, and with shoulder strap for easier carrying. And of course adjustable handle for positioning on the ground.
