Actually assembly I think is a more correct term.

I have been looking for a general flashlight to replace my G-2s. I was thinking just the venerable SF 6p. However... I discovered Leef Products.

My original plan was simply to get three HA Z44 bezels, Three Leef Bodies, Three Leef Shrouded Tail Caps.

Problem is Light Hound is out of the HA versions.

I got a Black 6p bezel and a Black Leef Body and a Tail cap. Once I got everything I decided I did not like the shiny black anodizing.

SOOOO I decided to Gun Kote it. Gun Kote is a spray on bake on Teflon coating designed for firearms. The prep is a light snad blasting to "rough the surface." I did not go so far as to remove the anodizing, just give the surface something for the Teflon to soak into and grip the parent metal.

I mixed a custom color trying to get close to the HA natural finish and it turned out a bit more green than I originally intended but I think I like it.

Anyway, here it is

As compared to the Novatac and a Surefire M1 PLUS a Z44 HA bezel for color comparison.

And the tail cap.

All in all I LIKE IT ! ! ! Gun Kote is a very flat finish. I think i am going to do more.

looks pretty awesome! Nice job! Teflon coating sounds like a good idea. Does it provide good grip on a flashlight? I don't have much experience with the material.

Yes the finish feels like parkerizing and is fairly rough. On top of the knurling it is quite grippy

Wonderful no-frills paintjob. How durable is it? Does it stand up well to keys and similar?

Durability is an interesting question. It was originally designed for the Navy to coat weapons that had to survive a 500 hour salt spray test. Because it is applied to a sand blasted surface and then heated to 300 degrees for an hour the Teflon gets into the pores of the parent material it is applied to. Now will something like a key scratch it? Yep keys are sharp and will scratch anodizing as well. they beauty of this is the anodizing is still there under the Gun Kote.

It won't look this pristine after a ton of use but it will still be protected.

But are they nitrogen purged? :naughty:

Sorry, couldn't help it.

The lights look great. I bet the Gunkote holds up pretty well. :twothumbs

I think you have found you're calling!! VERY nice work!! You just need to come with a pricing plan now:poke:

That looks great.

Do anyone here paint their lights with custom themes, like American flag, camouflage, etc etc?

You need to build some weapon mountable IR LED lights to compliment your NV work. That would be awesome.
