Sweeeeet!! :)
I love that natural finish, so sick of anodizing! Love something different.
man you said it, me too! Iam going to get one of these, love the smooth head, body, tailcap. After I get it Iam sticking an 11074 in it from DX (after modding so it futs of sourse)and it will be good to go!

Is it true that SF have changed the UI to come on low first then high?
Taken from SF's site.
New silver-finish E1B Backup is now available for those who prefer reversed (low-to-high output) switching.

Interesting point.
Dear owners of the new marvel ... can you confirm this? :)

So whats the bottom line on using RCR123? Another thread stated that you aren't supposed to but it will work. Any definitive answer?

thanks
me

RCR123A in a E1B it will strobe like crazy...the circuit is like that of the KX1, Boost only with little overhead above 3.5V

now I've been told AW's 3.0 Volt LiFePO4 will work with no existing issues inside the E1B
[Info on E1B using LiFePo4]

Hope this helps, cheers

Forgive the OT, but where are you guys getting your AW's from?

I've been running the DX Soshine 3.0v, 650mah, rechargeables with no apparent problems and it shines exceptionally bright with no strobing. I'd be interested in knowing if anyone has had a problem with this arrangement?

Bernie: No white impression. It looks "aluminum opaque light grey". Imagine if you mix grey with white color, with opaque (not shiny) finish. I think your white color impression was product of my camera flash...

SureAddicted: I don´t know if there´s an option, but in my sample, UI is just the same as the previous black model. High output first, low output second (no memory mode).

750.356: Thanks! Another thing that I saw (and liked) is that there is no difference among head, body and tailclickie finish. They´re just exactly the same color tone.

powernoodle: Sorry, but I don´t have RCR123 to test. I´ll just use primary CR123 batteries.

PsychoBunny: Yes, me too! It doesn´t look like HA, but it is (and you can feel it). Amazing finish... Congrats to Surefire!

SUREFIRED: I don´t know if the text is HA. It looks like painted in black, over the silver HA. If touched, you can feel the letters (high relief). Lettering is perfect, even in the tiny letters (numbers of US Pat.). Only time will show if they last...

P.S. - forgive my rusted english... I confess I need practice more!

I just got off the phone with Surefire customer service. They said that E1B is high first, then low - whether black or silver. I told them about the wording on the website and they're going to get the language changed.

I can second the fact that this light should work fine with 3.0 volt RCR batts, like the Soshine ect. but NOT with 3.7 volt batts. I have an E1L, E2L, and E2LD that all work fine on both modes with the 3.0 volt Soshines, but I never run 3.7 volt batteries as they won't work in low mode, and direct drive the lights on high mode and are probably hard on them too. Stick to 3.0 volt rechargeables and you'll be fine. The bad part is 3.0 volt RCR's are all somewhat unique, so it pays to get the same brand charger as the batteries you are using. Soshine makes a decent charger and their 650 mAh batteries seem to be good quality. Primaries are about 1400 mAh so you'll get much better runtime with them. However, if you goof off playing with your lights like me, the rechargeables are essential

Ah damm. Low first would have been too cool.

Thanks for sharing the wonderful pictures Federal LG.

The silver E1B looks very sharp! I've always liked my E1B... here's my excuse to get another one (this time in silver) !

Has anyone seen them advertised anywhere for less than the standard $149?
