Well, I just got done my ultimate 6P build(almost). I did a few simple modifications that anyone could do to, to turn my 6P into a cutting edge, tactical, awesome looking light!
The introduction of the 6PL is what got me turned back onto the wonderful 6P platform. The light is a classic design, for good reason as it's form factor just "feels" great in hand. Obviously, the first thing I wanted was MORE light. Well, this is where the "almost" comes into play. I wanted to get a Malkoff M60 for it, but since those are so hard to find I settled on a Q5 drop-in from lighthound that is driven at 750ma. This drop-in is still plenty bright(around 160 lumens out the front according to my tests) and has great tint, but it does have the dreaded "cree ring" in the beam. As soon as I can find a Malkoff, my light will be complete
As for the rest of the light, I had to change a few things to my tastes. I started with a Leef McClicky and Leef grip, and added the stainless steel head/bezel from lighthound. To finish the head off, I dropped in a UCL lens as well. Two of AW RCR123's power the beast for about 1hr. of regulated, "guilt-free" runtime. Last but not least, I took sandpaper to the knurling on the body and tailcap. I sanded away some of the anodizing to expose the raw aluminum so it would match the SS head.....I think it came out great! Here are some pics!
I am not the best at taking photos, but these were the best I could do  Opinions encouraged!! Oh, and if anyone has a spare M60 drop-in to contribute to my build, I would greatly appreciate it!
