I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this, but the mods can feel free to move it if they wish. I ran across this deal on Craigslist, somebody selling 12,000 C size batteries for 18 cents each. There is no useful information about battery type, manufacturer, etc., in the ad other than they are Chinese. They are located in Carol Stream, IL. If you have any interest, you can contact the seller with your questions.

Depending on the chemistry they're probably not worth 18c US each. Certainly not in that quantity.

Probably zinc-carbon. If alkaline, 18 cents is a good deal, if zinc-carbon they're about 25 cents RETAIL and would have to be under 10 cents in that quantity.

Those would be KILLER for someone with a surplus tank light, but I'm NOT going to help with the wiring harness.

If they are a no name untested brand could be a lot of duds in the batch. I have come across cheap batteries at times and later find them going dead in less than a year or leaking. I wouldn't trust generic batteries with good equipment.
