Need a good way to store extra Lamp Assemblies

As the title implies, I have extra lamp assemblies and I need a good way to store them. Spares carries only hold one, and they're too expensive to buy multiples for this one purpose. A small case/carrier of some sort that hold 8-10 lamp assemblies would be very helpful.

Anyone know where to find one or has anyone come up with something on their own that works well?

Thanks!

my guess would be a pelican case with a foam insert. I'm guessing the 1050 or 1060 out of the micro series would be good, but I haven't looked into these cases for your purpose specifically.
Hope this helps,

I have the pelican 1060 and it is big enough to hold easily 18+ P60 style bulbs and still have room.
Inside demensions are 4.25" X 7.5" X 2"

Lumens Factory sells the same plastic keeper with foam inserts that they ship their new lamps in. They are designed to hold the lamps properly and are very reasonably priced.

You can put them in any type of case, soft or hard and they are secure. Also, having each lamp in a secure individual container lets you grab one or several for your go bag without having to tote every lamp you own.

I have tried several cases with foam inserts and the LF holders have turned out to be the best solution for me.

that's an awesome idea, maybe I should try something like that…

Guys,

Thanks for all the ideas!

LF LA holders are what I would like best, I just didn't know they sold them separately. I'll pick up one of the pelican cases too.

Actually, I need to get something to hold all my light accessory stuff. Kinda like a tackle box for light accessories, and maybe a few lights.

I'm using hard sided handgun cases to store most of my lights in, the nice ones. Works very well. I just need to get accessories organized and the LA are the most fragile.

Where to buy the LF LA holders? Does Lighthound carry them? I don't remember seeing them on their site.

I agree 100% with this one. I could be wrong but I think www.lighthound.com has a few of the cases for a good price.

If you're just looking to keep it neat, as opposed to carrying extra LA around, look at the Plano flat cases. They're sold in hardware and fishing sections, run about $4, have moveable inserts, and are reasonably waterproof. Best of all, they're clear, so you can find what you need without opening up every case you have.

They're also sold in craft stores, but usually cost more there.

sry to kinda hijack the thread, but is SF gone for Labor day or something? Tried to get a hold of them via phone, but no response…

I mentioned this in another similar topic, but this is the topic I was originally looking for. Thanks to flash_gordon (I think) for pointing this topic out to me. I also am starting to accumulate some extra reflectors and P60 style modules, so this topic interest me and I have been keeping my eye out for storage solutions.

A good place to do this is when I'm trying to kill time in craft stores while my wife browses around, I try to find things I can use for flashlights, knives, etc.

Today I saw this storage container for $4.99 and it looked like it might work, so I gave it a shot, and it turns out it works perfect for my needs. I found this at AC MOORE near the beads. It's made to store beads in, and it's a case with 12 small containers inside that the P60's slide right into. They don't wobble side to side, it's that perfect of a fit. I put a thin piece of foam, they sold it there to use to cut out shapes and letters, at the bottom of each container just for a little extra padding, but I really wouldn't need it. Here are some pics to help anyone who is interested in finding it, and see how they fit:

The positve spring sticks up just above the top, so with the lid on it puts a little bit of pressure on it which helps to hold it in place. I'm not sure if this would be ideal for some of you, so I thought I'd point this out:

I have a Surefire P60, Dereelight 2-stage Q2 module w/ reflector, a spare Dereelight reflector on the bottom left, here there was a gap between the reflector and the lid so I just put in a piece of pluck out foam in there that I had left over from a case with pluck out foam, or whatever it's called. :) I also have the new Fenix red filter in one of the containers, so it fits as well:

It's a nice little case, would be easy to grab and take along, or throw into a larger bag, suitcase, etc. The case securely holds each container when closed, but they shake around a little:

While I found this case at an AC Moore, it's possible they could be in other craft stores, Michaels, Joanne Fabrics, etc. Probably any place that sells beads for making jewlery could possibly carry it.

The label, which I ripped when opening it, says "Bead Caddy" and has a web address, www.nicolecrafts.com so you could probably order it from them online possibly, I haven't checked. :)

You can click on any of the images for a hi-res version.

Nice find, WadeF. That looks like an excellent solution for D26 size lamp assemblies. The price is certainly right. Also, you can take one or two of the individual bottles with you and have the lamps protected. I am going to look for one. I can't find one on the internet, so I guess there is a trip to a craft store in my future.

Great Idea!

FYI, I just checked Walmart last night and they didn't have those. Might have to go to a real craft store for one.

Just get a plastic case with multiple compartments at Walmart for a couple bucks and be done with it, rather than pay some online shop $20 for basically the same thing. I have one I got there that works great. I bought the USA made on rather than the Chinese one. It was about 40 cents more, but alot better quality which also means I won't have to replace it again in a year. :)

WadeF, I like the looks of that!!!

I might have to check the local Hobby Lobby and Joanne Fabrics, though I'll feel kinda funny walking in there.
