I'm currently looking for a replacement for my tired Stinger inc. EDC light. I'm thinking 18650 sized and would prefer a white tint if possible. We have some Stinger LED's at work and the tint is a bit blue for my taste. I'm a weld inspector and the light will be used mostly at ranges of thirty feet or less so throw is not a high priority. Minimum artifacts would help when doing work at closer ranges.

Thank you for your suggestions,

Jim

A neutral white 18650 powered light could suit your needs but I don't recall any currently in production.

If you don't mind modding, then you can get a cool white light, and swap in a neutral white LED.

:welcome:

Edit: PhantomPhoton mentions a few neutral white 18650 powered lights further down the thread (post 4). Forgot to check those companies

Here's another possible way - the Quark 123.2 Neutral White is still available from 4Sevens - it has a great neutral tint - below are a couple of photos showing its tint compared to another cool white Quark. You could also purchase the 18650 battery tube from them to make it into a reasonably priced (and pretty darn good) neutral white 18650...

In the photos I happen to have my 18650 body on the cool white Turbo, but it doesn't matter - the battery tube is interchangeable with any of the Quark 'full size' lights.

Hope this helps!

I'd second the neutral white option. However, as mind-boggling as it is, very few manufacturers do in fact offer neutral white lights which run on 18650.
:wtf:

Anyway the ones I know of are Zebralight with the H60W; Eagletac with the T10LC2 an T20C2; Dereelight with the CL1H and a neutral white emitter + OP reflector; a Malkoff M30W or M30WF dropin in an 18650 compatible host such as a solarforce, 5mega boy or bored out $F host; and finally I think Jetbeam has a Jet III of some variety with a neutral emitter option.

The Zebralight is pure flood and may not put out enough direct light for your needs. The Eagletac lights both do not fully regulate when running on 18650. The Dereelight may be the best option both in terms of quality regulation an price. The Malkoff dropin is, well a Malkoff dropin, things on't get better than that. The Jetbeam isn't fully regulated an is built more for throw.

Hopefully this will give you some leads to follow. :grin2:
