Newly Enlightened
This has been killing me, ive been searching these forums and the net but found no answers.
What are the Surefire tail clickies made of, what type of rubber or silicone. The reason I ask is that I have an old E1 and I notice that when I rub it against a piece of paper it rubs off black...Is this bad? My new surefire doesn't do this. Also can I use silicone grease (pure) on the clickie??? it seems to make the smearing/deterioration worse.
I don't know if this is normal and i'm just paranoid but it seems strange that such a quality light's rubber would deteriorate.
I've never used petrolium or solvents on it at all, it's been on a shelf most of its life so its not due to any forign chemical/substance.
Just a side note: the o-rings are in great condition though.
I just want to know if I can use silicone on it and if this condition is normal or will the rubber start to crack?
All help will be greatly appreciated
