New Cree SF L1 ~ lego w/ gen.2 L1??

OK,
Having used an L1 for a couple years on the job, I really prefer it's size over any other edc light. A new SF cree L1 is on the way (thanks Mike @ OpticsHQ!).

My question is, will the new cree L1 head work with the old L1 (longer) body? I realize the circuit board/electronics are in the body of the old L1, and, judging by the pics I've seen of the new Cree L1, it seems the new SF body only holds the battery...

Either way, I know I'll prefer the improved performance of the cree L1, just not sure about the shorter length. I know, picky picky...

That's correct, SureFire have changed the method of packaging the electronics inside the body so that it takes up far less space.

Excellent... So maybe the new cree L1 head will adapt to the old L1 body... I'll find out on Friday when the new L1 shows up, just wondered if anyone else has tried this out yet.
