New EastwardYJ YJ-XAQ5 don't work

Hi together,

i bouth on dealextreme a new EastwardYJ YJ-XAQ5, loaded the batteries, inserted them. But the flashlight don't work.

Perhaps i inserted the batteries the wrong way. The "spring" is on - and the + is "on" the button.

Is that correct. Whats the problem?

The switch might have loose contacts or the contacts may be dirty.

i cleaned it and tried with a multimeter, there is contact. Also the switch works.

is polarity right?

The battery goes + towards the emitter/head.

Wow, that was the solution. I was worried to damage the light so i don't tried.

WOW! thanks god it is reverse polarity protected otherwise .

Yes i know

in germany it's unusual that the "spring" is connected to the "+" side of the battery.

next time i know better.
