New life for PT40s ?

I have 3 Princeton Tec 40s and the headlamp equivelent with orange peel reflector. I'm wondering if there are any bulb or battery changes/combinations that would give these things some new life. I'm most interested in a LED mod, but any ideas would be great.

I did notice that the magLED drops right in with a snug fit, but I'm a little concerned about sending 6.0V to a 4.5V LED module and decided not to turn it on.

Oh...duh!! I didn't even realize that Mag made a 4 cell drop in. I just checked their website and saw it. Yes, the Magled fit perfectly with a snug fit. I guess that's the mod I was looking for I just need to get a 4 cell magled drop in and see if it works.

BTW, I also tried a terralux ssc p4 but because of the wider design it doesn't fit.

Can you let me know how the beam is with the mag drop in?

I have a PT40 I thought about modding, if the drop in works and doesn't have a really nasty beam, I'll have to pick one up!

I suppose a bit of write right film would fix that up tho...
