How long distance do you mean? What size and battery do you prefer? :grin2:

never defined it to myself. the longer the better.
but it has to be a small enough flashlight that I be able to carry in my backpack

as for batteries... I was standard batteries and flashlights that use proprietary or built-in batteries.

thanks!

I've noticed that also with the DEFT that the beam convergence is actually a pretty good ways out, it seemed like it was 10yds or so. Is there anynews on a more powerful pill for use with the clear lens or smooth lens for that matter?
But if the OP wants throw, some are good, but this is the best.

I prefer flashlights that uses standard batteries and not a flashlight with proprietary or built-in/rechargeable batteries

any recommendation on these newer models will be appreciated

thanks!
The DEFT runs on four AA alkalines or rechargeable NiMHs.

As the new LEDs such as XP-G and Phlatlight come out I will work out some solutions using them. I have to get them in hand first. For now it is XR-E and MC-E.
