Nitecore 21700 cold weather battery in my Fenix E35 V3. Questions…

It's getting pretty cold where I live and I suspect I'm going to need a battery in my E35 V3 that can withstand it. I work in EMS/Fire so I'm outside pretty often. It's currently my backup (work) light and EDC light.

I found this cold weather battery made from Nitecore here.

My main questions;
Is it safe to use a Nitecore cold weather 21700 in my E35? Will this cold weather battery affect the lights performance in any significant way? Any recommendations on chargers for this 21700 since the stock Fenix battery can be charged directly (USB-C). I have 0 experience in this field.

Really? Well if that's the case then I'm good to go. The coldest it gets here is -5F (~-20.5C). I just assumed it had the same cold tolerance as my E18Rs 16340 which struggled in the colder temps.

The link says the light is built to work in cold weather and then says "a cold resistant battery is highly recommended in extremely low-temperature environments", so yes I'd say you still need a different battery for below zero F temps

That's what had me confused. I'll probably just order the cold weather 21700 just in case, and test it out on shift tomorrow. We are supposed to get some snow and some frigid temps. Might report back with the results.

Get the cold weather battery, it can only help, and nothing wrong with having a spare battery ! Olight sells a usb charger that is just wires with a magnetic end, basically small light and fits any battery.
I would seriously consider how you carry the light , you haven't mentioned , but carrying inside clothing closer to your body and away from the cold untill needed will help look after it and ensure it turns on when you want it to.

Fenix is not making or selling any cold weather battery at the moment It used to have a 2900 mAh 18650 for cold weather but they discontinued it.

Nitecore makes both 18650 and 21700 supposedly designed for extreme low temps.
Probably rewraps of existing low temps batteries such as Panasonic.

Confusing. The light is supposed to work in extreme temperatures but question #5 in FAQ asks what battery is supported and the answer is " the supplied battery".
