Novatac 120P switch question

I recently recieved a Novatac 120P. Ran into the usual problems at first, just needed to stretch the spring and make sure the contacts were clean/tight. I got used to the UI very quickly too.

I've noticed that the button on my 120P requires a firm hard push to register, and can be inconsistent in switching sometimes. I usually have to try a couple of times to ensure each click and click/hold registers. My thumb gets tired quickly when switching between the different presets. Is this normal for the 120P, or is there a problem with my switch?

i only had that very very few times when i had mine. i ended up using the tip of my finger/nail more. see what other people say, but if its a very often occurring problem that just doesnt seem right.

I use mine in cigar grip, holding underhand can tire a thumb quickly. Use cigar and squeeze hand and thumb...if that makes sense.

Never had this problem, but wound up buying the tactical switch for mine because the feedback from the P switch didn't seem very good to me. LOVE the tactical switch- the feel is much better. But you lose tail stand.

Is the tactical switch a clickie, or like a button on the P lights? I rather like the low profile button on the P's.

I also had the same problem on my 120P, still waiting for a replacement tailcap from NovaTac. My 85P has been flawless.

I used some 3M adhesive asphalt tape. It's about 100 mils thick, feels like 60 grit sand paper made of rubber. Cut out a small circle of it and stuck it right onto the P-Style switch. It gives great feedback without feeling like I'm slicing through the rubber cap with my nail.

Then I got the t-style tailcap and it works even better.

I've got several Novatac 120P's as well as HDS lights and they have all been light touch easy click problem free and solid in action. I think you should contact Jim at Novatac and ask about a replacement tailcap.

I would say that it has the same "action" as the flat switch, but protrudes farther, and has a much better positive "click" when pushed to turn the light on. I think this is a MUCH better switch option. I have only used one of each type, however, so this is based on very little personal experience.

If I don't press the switch directly in the middle or not hard enough (but still registers a click), I can click it 2-3 times and nothing happens. But as long as I click it firmly and squarely it usually works perfect.

On a side not, has anyone noticed that if you drop the novatac from 1 inch and above squarely on the tailcap it blinks and then shuts of a second later? I'm not sure if I'm the only one experiencing this. It doesn't do it if its dropped on its side or bezel though.

I had a problem with my 120T, I didn't notice I bought a package that had been previously opened and parts as well as instructions were missing.

I tried the E mail thing to get help since I didn't know how to do the restart, had much better luck trying the phone number listed on the Novatac web page. If I recall I had to try a couple of times to get a warm body but it worked faster.

Mine is "firm" as well. I have developed an odd grip. I hold it between my pinky and third finger and use the tip of my thumb to operate the switch. I know it sounds funny, but try it, it works better at least for me.
