Flashlight Enthusiast
Newbie here with a question. I have recently bought several quality LED lights and had a problem with one that was bought NIB. The seller asked me to clean and lube the O rings AND threads. The light had been flickering at times and he thought this might help.
Now I know that cleaning and lubing the O rings makes sense, but is it neccessary to lube the threads as well? If so...why? I did buy some Nyogel from Lighthound and being anal like I am, cleaned and relubed all my new lights rings and threads. The thing is, the twisty lights... Fenix P3D and L0D both seem to twist a little more "stiffer" now.
Is there some other lubricant that I need to apply to the threads and is it neccessary for proper functioning of the lights? ANy advice would be of great help. I did see some DetoxIT advertised at the Fenis-Store, but it looks a little pricey. I don't think the threads are dirty either as they are all new.
Thanks in advance,
Dan
