I'm looking for a light that throws a brighter beam than current l.e.d. Maglites. Preferably in C or D cell. Is there such an animal available?
Thanks!

Now believe this or not (there is an entire thread about it on the forum), if you are lucky engough, your local lowes hardware store might even have the Surefire G2L.

And as you may already know, the maglite actually "throws" the beam a considerable distance because of its excellent reflector, but the amount of light that it throws is actually not that great. For example a 4D mag will throw better than a small, orange peel reflectored, LED that's putting out twice the amount of light. A mag light with a good LED drop-in can really outperform the stock incan mags.

Interesting.

So does this mean that a MagLED may be an answer to the question? I've never seen one. Are they brighter than the equivalent incans?
