On my expensive lights like the Ion, FireFly, ARC4, LHS etc I usually put my name and phone number on a sticky with a "Reward if Found" and wrap it around the battery.
If it gets lost maybe the person who finds it will give me a call when they need to change the battery. This gives me some hope of getting it back as well as curing any battery rattles.
