The Gladius seems pretty hefty, and with the upgrade you can get it up over 150, but beyond that I'm at a loss.

And when I say "built like a tank", I'm talking Infinity Ultra here. Definitely no Fenix or DX stuff. I'm talking massively overkill construction.

What say you all?

That M1 looks good. What's the difference between the M1 and the M1-R... I'm assuming the R stands for Rebel?

The Wiseled Tactical is big and strong, and way over 150, but it's very expensive and I heard it isn't regulated (or at least not very well). I know that was a parameter in my OP, but that's what's keeping me from buying it.

Barbolight. Not small, not pretty, but definately bright enough and the build spec is well beyond a tank :p

+2 on the Barbolight. An english website is here.
Btw. the Wiseled Tactical IS regulated. The reduction in output is due to temperature, not battery voltage. And no one keeps you off from boosting the light to maximum again. ;)

Plenty of Surefire models built like tanks.... and over 150 lumens.

My impression is that the Lumapower, Huntlight, Dereelights, and Wolf Eyes are all fairly tank like. And that models from at least the first 3 show signs of being designed by some of the same engineers.

But both these beliefs are based on reading, not using.

.....shaking head......

well I guess you told me.

:)

Keep in mind, Surefire measures their lumens where it counts, out the front. (Pelican does too. I've heard HDS does also). An LED light advertised as being 150 lumens from another company.... Not even close. An 80 lumen LED light is going to be closer to 45.

150 doesn't usually mean 150.

Yep.... I know about eLumens and all.

My question still stands... what Surefire LED is 150+?

If there is one, I want it.

edit: Are you saying a L2 or L4 rated at 100 lumens out the front is probably over 150 eLumens at the emitter?

I'm just saying I'd rather have 100 conservative lumens than 150 advertised lumens. :D

Also.... Have you heard there's going to be a new L2 in the future.

Wolf Eyes lights are definitely built, and feel, like tanks. Overbuilt might be a good way to describe them.

Other than fit and finish DereeLights are getting shining reviews. Lumapower makes great lights. But I don't think I'd classify either as build like a tank. Just well built. If you can actually find a modern Barbolight available go for that!
