For anyone with an old Luxeon version of this headlamp who hasn't done this, I found on-star Seoul P4 U-bin at DX, along with a 10 pack of TIR optics that are 30mm x 14.3mm, very close to the size of the original reflector, and they drop right in. The bezel doesn't screw down ALL the way, but it is very close, and I'm betting some modification could be done so that it does if one were interested.
The resulting beam pattern is pretty darned good, smooth center splotch with a fading corona around it. Not much spill beam here, but the original side-emitter/reflector setup didn't have much spill beam either, so if you liked the original beam pattern, you'll probably like this one just as much. This is a much cleaner beam than the stock side-emitter. As many people have said, this upgrade basically makes low as bright as the old high, and high far more impressive.
The TIR optic is part number 13907 and they only come in a 10 pack. If you would like to do this mod and only need 1 optic, I have 9 more sitting here and nothing to do with them. Shoot me a PM and I'll mail one to you
