for some strange reason, our orange and white tabby cat, Nemo, came home tonight with a half-engorged wood tick on the back of his neck....
did I mention that here in southeastern Maine, we have a good 3-4" coat of heavy, wet snow on the ground... he must have picked it up in the hay barn...
anyway, I picked off the tick, which came out cleanly, mouthparts intact, and proceeded to look for a way to kill it, normally it's dropped in a sealed bottle of 91% isopropyl alcohol, but tonight, i wanted to try an experiment
knowing full well the tickbusting effectiveness of my MagCharger, I decided to test out my P91'ed G3 on the loathsome, blood-gorged arachnid
the tick was placed on it's back, so it couldn't crawl away, on an old black wooden table, the G3 was positioned just over it, with the bottom of the bezel resting on the table, and the light at about a 30 degree angle
I pressed the tailcap, and the Mighty P91 *roared* to life, focusing every bit of it's searing 200 lumen beam on the hated parasite
the effects were immediate and noticeable
after 2 seconds of exposure, the tick showed signs of discomfort
in 5 seconds, all movement ceased, and the parasite was dead, but i kept the light on it longer, just to make sure it was a definite kill
at 10 seconds, the tick's bloated abdomen began to darken and discolor
at 15 seconds, wisps of smoke began to rise from the tick's corpse
at 30 seconds, the ex-tick was well on it's way to doing a very good impersonation of a charcoal briquette
at 35 seconds, I was satisfied that the tick was truly dead, and it's corpse was flushed down the toilet
final score, G3 one, tick, ZERO
compared to the MagCharger, the P91'ed G3 is a *far* more effective tick killer, the MC takes about twice as long to kill, and does not produce any tick-smoke
[Mortal Kombat]
G3 Wins......Fatality!

yes, as if you couldn't tell, I hate ticks....
