I was walking past a swanky new condo development, peering into the lobby living room area, I saw this unusual looking lamp.

It occurred to me that this type of lamp would be great for color mixing and light diffusion, optimal for a design that could incorporate separate red LED emitters for more fuller spectrum coverage and higher efficiency.

another thread on that: Red emitter enhanced White LED light (in Non-Flashlight LED Forum, 20 Sept 2024 )

The design seems to have an LED that shines facing backwards into a big parabolic dish, to reflect the light forward in a very spread-out and diffuse way. The color of the lamp I saw was white on the inside and black on the outside. The dish seemed about 26 inches in diameter (66 cm), if I had to guess. The light had a very "warm" rich feel to it. It was probably 2700K at 93 CRI, if I had to guess.

It looked something like these lamps:

Some search words that might help, if you're trying to find it:
Modern Loft LED Floor Lamps Classic Floor Light Satellite Living Room Photography Standing Lamps for Living Room Lampara Led - Aliexpress
Hive Lighting Hard Beauty Dish with White Interior for Omni-Color LEDs
Teamson Home Tripod Floor Lamp Industrial Metal Dish Shade Black Fascino VN-L00019A

It seems to have a very contemporary modern design, kind of bizarre. And yet very functional, for diffusing light, although the light is very directional.

The two dishes were positioned in such a way, with some couches, that they almost seemed to have the effect of a fireplace with a warm glowing fire.

Here's a parabolic dish lamp that hangs from the ceiling:

It looks like a soft light fixture intended for photography. Interesting that the design has been adapted as a stylish room lamp.
