paypal does not use my balance

I am trying to buy a light on ebay and i went topay and figured that it would take from my paypal balance but it did not it paid as an echeck, so i got the echeck refunded, now i am trying to buy again and it will not give me an option to use my PP balance????

now i see it says this"Your PayPal account balance is set as the primary funding source when it's available". WTF

You have to have a 2nd back up funding source for it to send out your balance right away.

i have my bank account in there and i HAD a credit card, i did not change anything. Even when i had a zero balance in paypal it always took my funds as an instant transfer, not as ab e check as it did last night. I do not have the option for instant transfer now, only echeck. It also says that it is set up to automatically use the balance, when it available.

I founf=d I had credit on mine too afte I was refunded by a seller due to the account he said to use didn't accept credit cards. So he gave a me a new payment email....I didn't realise. I have done a couple of smaller purchases less than the credit value and it didn't use it.

Luckily it was over the limit where you need to pay to transfer it, so I just transfered it back to my bank account.

I swaer it used to just use any credit you had and you paid the difference on the payment method selected,
