Anyone seen this light yet? Don't see it on photon Site. Read about it a while back. Would like to buy.

Welcome to CPF. Please familiarize yourself with the Search feature of this board. There are several topics on the subject already started. As to your question, NO, the light is not yet available. It's missed a couple release dates already and is now scheduled for late-November, however I"m questioning that myself.

Especially since it IS now late November! :) You did mean this year, right? :nana:

The LRI/Photon light that has been delayed a couple times is the Rex, not the Pro. The Pro was always slated for early 2008 iirc. Which if we translate from Photon marketing to real world time, we'll see it around May 2008.

My bad, you are correct. Can you tell how much I have the Proton Pro on my mind? It's my next "gotta have" light. If I recall correctly, the Pro really hasn't even been officially annouced by LRI yet.

Yep - it was the ReX that was delayed.

The new Proton is definately up there on the wish list. The Proton appears to be using an optic instead of a relector (maybe similar to how the new Surefires are) and it is still to have the duel color beams. I wonder if the new Proton is similar to the new HDS twisty that has duel color capability - in that it has the two LED's built into the same die? Interesting.

I was excited about the Proton Pro with Cree when it was announced, but by the time they finally get it released, I bet the Cree R bins will be out and we'll be on the cusp of the next generation of LED's coming out. At that point it will seem woefully behind like the Lux version was/is.

R2 bin Cree's are already out. :) I have one right here.

Looking forward to the Cree Proton, as well as closeout-priced first gen Protons

Yea its hard to keep track of everything at times TIN. There's just so much on the retail market now it boggles the mind if you stop and start writing it all down. I've had to resort to just that to keep in mind whats out there, and what I can afford. I'm pretty sure that I'll be grabbing a Photon Rex and a Photon Pro when they finally get released.
