The rumor you've heard is true. Right next to the conference center in the "Gas Lamp" district. My days are totally dictated by my daughter's whims.

Craig - Funny you should mention that. I spent the whole evening walking the area, and didn't find a single gas lamp, no matter how hard I tried. This place is pretty neat though, so I think I'll let the name slide for now.
In other news, my wife tells me this morning that she couldn't sleep so she grabbed "one of [my] flahslights" and read for 45 minutes. She said I should make sure it is working right because it got so hot she thought the headboard would catch on fire. Sure, I brought five LED lights with me, and she grabbed the E2! Told me it wasn't very good for reading. Too damn bright! She had to aim it off the page and just use the corona. Now THERE's an excellent example of the right tool for the job, eh? Well, there goes $6 in batteries I'll never see again. Glad my light didn't melt. Tonight the Arc with the glowring goes in her bedstand drawer.

Hmm, maybe I should start a topic called 'Off Topic' in the cafe. Since the Cafe is for Off topic posts, any off topic posts in the 'Off Topic' topic would actually be on topic for the cafe, but since the cafe is off topic, then they would really be off topic, meaning that anything you posted there wouldn't be on topic or off topic. It would just exist in an indeterminate state of topicness.

Well, its interesting because its a bizarre coincidence - I read and enjoyed that book when I was at school too. Just a week or so ago I was reminded of the story but couldn't remember the title of the book or the author, so I ended up doing a search for 'Aunt Beast'(one of the things I figured was unique enough to show up in a search..) on Google, and promptly found it. I just stuck it in my Amazon wish list, to maybe get with my next order.

Its surprising how many books I read at school are good even as an adult. The Tripods series is another I got hold of again recently.

Well, I like to think that I'm in touch with my inner cow.
I'm trying to think what reminded me of the book. For some reason the Aunt Beast thing came to me out of nowhere, and I just had to find out - once I remembered, decided it would be nice to read it again.
I've got a few things to get on Amazon, so I'll probably be ordering it soon. I'll be getting the Monty Python Flying Circus box set too..
