Post your Surefire E2DL- E1B- LX2 Tail current(Different Batteries new Test & Pics)

Ill go first E2dL 6 weeks old

E2DL Fresh SF CR123's
790mah at the Tail

E1B SF CR123 1 day old silver
850mah at tail.

Lx2 I dont have one.

I just did a revised Test using a New Ultralast Photo Lithium Batteries WOW I cant believe the difference in my Tail numbers.Anyone care to chime in on this ????

Revised Test
E2DL:910mah and held steady at 860mah
E1B:1.0A and held steady at 990mah.

Ultralast Battery Photo Lithium held steady at this output E1B WOW

E2DL Ultralast Lithium Photo battery held steady at this output although it did hit 910mah but dropped down to 860mah and held

How do you take the measurement?

With a Multimeter black probe to the negative part of battery with tail off.Red probe on the outside of threads to complete circuit.

Re: Post your Surefire E2DL- E1B- LX2 Tail current Draw

E2DL: 891 ma this is a older one that was tested at 217 lumens

E1B: 781 ma one of the first batch

LX2: 815 ma also one of the first batch

The LX2 is slightly brighter than the E2DL to my eye.

Re: Post your Surefire E2DL- E1B- LX2 Tail current Draw

My E2DL that I bought in March measures 850mA but they aren't fresh cells. It was in a box that had 200 lumens on it and the serial number begins with B.

E2DL 810ma.

Purchased used so I don't know how old it is.

E1e-body-E2L head 330ma/ imr AW123

Im gonna try a run with used cells and see if it changes anything instead of new ones.

891mah Thats Very Impressive!!!!!

Any reason for these numbers being all over the place with the same light??

E1B:1.0A

Added pics above of what they held steady at.If this is correct the little E1B is hitting over 200 Lumens on a single CR123.I just got it yesterday Serial Number is in the 38K.
The E2DL is an A serial number in the 35K

Re: Post your Surefire E2DL- E1B- LX2 Tail current(Different Batteries new Test & Pic

The E1B drawing 1amp from a 3v battery is not going to be 200lm.
The E2DL draws 900ma from 6v of batteries, not taking into consideration voltage sag. The E2dl may very well be 200lm, the E1B drawing 1000ma from a single primary can not make 200lm.

So if most are drawing 450-500mah producing 85L 990mah should produce in my opinion looking at the light I would say 150L I could be wrong however it seems pretty bright.

bulletproof, i believe [Not So Bright] is right. you need to take into consideration that Voltage drops. Regulated circuit will draw more to compensate for lower Voltage.

You may get more response if you post this in "Flashlight Electronics - Batteries Included". Perhaps a mod can help you to...

Btw, did you say you are using UltraLast batteries? The following 2 threads may be of interest to you...

Re: Post your Surefire E2DL- E1B- LX2 Tail current(Different Batteries new Test & Pic

E2DL - 810 mah
E1B - 930 mah

Each of these lights are well over a hear old, so they are not the higher rated lights.

Re: Post your Surefire E2DL- E1B- LX2 Tail current(Different Batteries new Test & Pic

E1B : 930mAh for HIGH and about 40mAh for LOW

E1L : 420mAh for HIGH and about 40mAh for LOW

I have used a cheap multimeter , $4, I hope it's reliable enough. The E1B is a bit brighter than the E1L on LOW - according to SUREFIRE specs - though , the numbers can be anything between 35.1mAh and 44.9mAh ...

In all of those SureFires the switch inside the TailCap makes electrical contact through the rear face of the body tube - not the threads which are often anodised. Indeed the LX2 and all other models using the two-stage TailCap, along with the U2/K2 etc, feature a specially inserted metal contact ring to ensure the contact surface is as durable and as low-resistance as possible whilst the aluminium body takes care of the threads.
