HI !!
I use an ( almost :santa: ) 700 lumens flashlight
for my night hike on my bike and I'm really
satisfied!!
However , I'm a bit annoyed with the tint of
this flashlight ( a PLI from MG ): I think it's too
cool temperature color tint and I'm looking for
a warmer tint.

I tried the Eagletac MX2C4 neutral light but it's
too heavy ( 420g batteries included :tired: ) and
too noisy , so I gave up on this!!

ANy idea ? I do love LED but I don't know if
some other technologies are better ( HID ... )

I read that MCE is also available in warm tint
but I'm not able to find out where tu buy!!

I got a cheap P7 'Aimai' light off e-bay.......has a warm colour to my eyes...just a touch yellowish....

Hey,
If you don't mind tinkering, build yourself a halogen light. I put together a 25w light w/ a 6v NiMH battery pack from powerizer.

There's also a cheap variation :

Thank You!! :twothumbs

Do someone know if a 10w incand light is
brighter than a 700(supposed) lumens LED?

I wonder if my warm tint quest won't lead me to
purchase an incand ligth... even if it's less brighter!!!

No way, I have a high quality 25 watt halogen (JetLites)over-volted at 14.4V and my M2XC4 neutral is brighter, so a 10W halogen would be way too dim.

My suggestion is to get a brighter LED light; the PLI is probably 400-500 lumens; cool tints may look worse at lower intensities (?). The Magicshine from geoman is a good option; $90 and closer to 700 lumens.

Yes I know and it unfortunately will not be nearly as bright as the MCE.
The MCE I use today( A MG PLI) is a really bright flashlight and I'm really satisfied with it , except the tint , hovewer it's a bit warmer than the fenix
LD20 Q5 tint for example. The malakoff drop-in is now sold out  ( http://www.malkoffdevices.com/shop/m60w-mce-warm-p-53.html ).
I'm thinking about a jetbeam ou a dereelight ( I don't know yet wich one :grin2: ) a fooder one. :twothumbs

I've purchased the M2XC4 but this flashlight is too heavy to be put on a bicycle handlebar and it's a really noisy flashlight when it's shaken :D

COncerning the Magicshine , I've checked it up and it seems that it has no warm tint version.

Nailbender has a number of warm tints, including very warm mc-e emiters.
You can get a p60 drop-in from him.
Also, you could have the emiter in your MG PLI swapped with a warmer tint.

4sevens quark did a run of neutral tints that are great for forests.

(I spend a lot of time outdoors and have a strong preference for warm tints)

It might just be your lucky month, I think Shiningbeam is going to have some Warm Tinted MG PLIs in stock within the next couple of weeks. You might want to take a look over at cpfmarketplace and perhaps post for confirmation.

re: warm tint - that would be nice. Shiningbeam was unable to source warm emiters from a high enough bin for some time. Glad its rolling out now. Even if a few months have passed, it's a solid light. Great driver, deep reflector, wieghty body.
