So I upgraded my princeton tech from the luxeon to a seoul LED.
The whole process was extremely easy following what a fellow member did, drilled out the 2 plastic rivets, pulled the lamp assembly out, desoldered the old LED, and popped the new one in, that was it!

Beamshots (High/Med/Low)*

As you can see, color improved considerably. The colors captured by the camera are pretty true to life, it went from this weird greenish/yellow color to something that was like bright white sunlight.

*The beamshots are a lot "floodier since i also took some 800 grit sandpaper and sanded a 1/4" thick "doughnut" around the clear portion of the front of the lens to frost it and disperse the very spotty beam.

No, I just very lightly frosted the lens. When you're looking at it from any angle, it's just a huge spot of white light. My gf even mentioned tonight that it was like a wall of light. I have a flashlight for long distance spotting on the trail but I felt the wall of light was better so I wouldn't get tunnel vision out there.

Thats a awesome idea to frost over the lens.. I'm sure you dont get as much throw, but for a spread thats great
