So, now that I have a Custom 1911, a P7 drop-in from Malkoff for my Surefire, now it is only logical I update my Spyderco folder.

On Saturday was the first day I handled and opened a benchmade folder and wow, the action was so smoth (butter smooth).

I will be going to Tad gear in San Francisco, Ca tommorrow and I want to spend less then $200 dollars for a knife.

I like edges in tanto, but open to anything. The blade has to be black or damascaus with no regard to sizes less then 8 inches folded.

I thought I can find quality damascous blade for less then $200, but I hope to.

What do you folks suggest is feasible????????????????
Thanks,
bigchelis

I would say go custom knife as well, plenty to choose from out there.

Not sure about Damascus at that price, but there are lot's of great knives in your price range. Look into higher up models in the Spyderco line, like the new Pheonix. Great knife.
Also, check out the entire Emerson line. The CQC-7 maybe right up your alley.

I would check out MCUSTA. I don't own any of them, but if you are looking for quality damascus for under $200, they look like they fit the bill. Best of luck!

I've got a MCUSTA MC12 Damascus and am very happy with it. It's well built, nice to handle and not to heavy to use with its' pocket clip. You should note however that "The blades are VG-10 core forged with 33 layers Damascus stainless" which means that the blade looks damascus but the core and cutting surface is VG-10 not true damascus. Mind you I don't think there is anything wrong with VG-10 and it lets you have a well built knife at half the price of a 100% damascus blade.
