I don't ever recall posting on Don's forum before, but I just had to ask all you wonderful people something. This is out of curiosity more than anything. :candle:

Ok, we all know how downright awesome Don's light are. That's a given. And I am not here to dispute that fact in any way. I lurve his products! :grin2:

I just would like to know one thing. Why are there no videos of any his lights on Youtube? Surely a ton of people on this forum own his lights. You mean to tell me no one has shot any video detailing a single one of his creations and put it up on the web? Even a quick little, "Hey, World! Check my new custom titanium beauty!" type video?

I hope this doesn't offend anyone. I just am sick of seeing every other flashlight video on there, but not single bit of McGizmo Goodness to be found anywhere... :(

.

(If there is one, could someone please point it out. Thank you! ;) )

I'm pretty sure I've seen one with the Sundrop.
Besides that, McGizmo is the forum's best kept secret.

You did? Of the Sundrop? Know where I can find it?

ETA: Ok. I just found that video that you talked about. Woot!

Anyone know of any others? Or would someone like to shoot some new ones? Heheh

Don't forget the video demonstrating anodizing Ti... There was a whole thread on it not long ago, should still be on the page here.

Would a video in which one of my lights was used qualify? Illumination was provided solely by a mule clipped to a ball cap.

Yes! That would qualify, Don!!! :grin2:

And yeah, I have seen the one where Don is demonstrating anodizing Titanium, and the E1B vs. Sundrop one. Saw that one last night..

Anyone else?

Nooooh, don't put them on YouTube, my wife might see them and that would be the end of it :D :D
Personally I don't think a video does a McGizmo right. Heft, precision, just feel the difference between an E1B and a Haiku or Sundrop?!!
Take the difference between the 123's clickie pack and the battery tube of an E1B. the clickie pack with it's big ring/rim holds superb. way better than a E1B IMHO. And the clip? it is so tight it is able to rip a piece from your jeans... Never seen that anywhere else.
How to get that in a video? Yeah, you can tell, but most people that shoot a video do it in the first 24 hours orso of getting the light.
It's not like here on the forum, where people that have had and used these lights for months or years tell you something about them.
How they handle, use, get scuffed up, buffed out, how they work.

If you want a good impresion of the lights read this:

If you want to see what it can handle, just look at the bottom of post #1, there are some pics of a PD after a bike accident... http://sexton.clarityconnect.com/PDvsHwy-before.jpg
Never seen any other light survive something like that. H*ll, some lights even break after dropping on carpet...

AlecGold, I agree with everything you said. I have no complaints at all about the threads on this forum. They're fantastic!

I just want to see more people put up vids on Youtube, is all... ;)

Don, the Toad Feeding was hilarious!

Law

:D

If my neighbors happen to hear me out there every night when I am catching the bugs for the anoles as well as hand feeding this guy (along with verbal encouragement and coaching), they might wonder about me.

I think the light throws it off initially because some times when I first approach it, it will just flick its tongue at my hand once or twice and no bug has emerged yet. I think it probably needs some shades.

sorry, back to the topic.............. :duck:

I don't care who he has build his lights for him. Just as long as one of them is holding a camera, I'll be happy....

:grin2:
