Ra - Twisty -- How Do You Carry?

...I ran a red cord through both holes in the tailcap and tied it into a loop...Sometimes in 'ordinary' situations, I make a loop around a belt strap on my pants, and have the twisty resting in my pocket. I can still pull it out and use it for most day/evening tasks without being limited by the length of the cord, which extends about 1.5ft from the beltstrap to the tailcap. If I'm in more extraordinary situations, I loop the cord around a split ring and latch it to a CMG. I put them in a pocket that can secure itself shut, so that I can pull out my lights and quickly move them, or pass them to someone else immediately. While camping recently, I noticed that the lanyard cord length was large enough so that I could pull it around my head that was covered by a wool face mask. It created a headband, with the Twisty dangling above my right ear, and the CMG (in red) dangling above the other...It was humorous looking to my friend, who got some good laughs out of me, but we both agreed that using the setup while squatting on the ground next to a stream washing out our cooking pans was ideal.

my twisty is not an EDC item, its specific use. but when i do use it, its on a small carabiner and double split ring, attached to my belt loop.

I do not own a ra twisty. But I do own some other twistys. I carry them just like I carry other flashlights.
Either in a holster like the concealco unit mentioned above that cost $20.00 each (fantastic value BTW) Or I carry the light on a Lanyard around my neck. This keeps the light in a place which is extremely handy and easy to get..quick.
IMHO the concealco holster is a great way to go for the guy for whom quality on a budget is important. If you are looking for a holster with more style have a look at the art of the hide website. Matt who is a friend of the CPF will custom make you (maybe) a holster just for your light. Machine the lights fine quality with a nice holster that you can wear on your belt at work while wearing suit pants is important to some people. To those the Art of the hide stuff is very nice. (BTW) the concealco leather is high end police quality. is is also very high quality but it isn't shark or elephant or Rey skin. IMHO I do no have any better general purpose leather than the concealco leather especially considering the fact that they cost around $20-25 each.
The lanyard method is even less expensive and very functional.
Yaesumofo.

+1 for the concealco. I have 3 of them in various sizes. I belive the SF100 would fit the twisty nicely as I believe it is the same diameter as the HDS line. Combine that with a paracord lanyard with a clip and thats about all I ever need. Ill be carrying my new RA 100 TR In a concealco when it arrives tommorow:rock:

In the fifth pocket of my jeans or the side pocket of my cargo pants or in a jacket pocket if in cooler weather. If I have to carry a light in a regular front pants pocket I switch to a smaller light. When I go camping I'll probably use a neck lanyard.

I use the nylon 5$ leatherman wave holster.

I have been EDCing this way for two years. I use it horizontally on my belt, above my left front pocket. I loop the belt though the holster then through my belt loop and then back through the holster. The flashlight stays put. I have learned to keep the opening towards the side of my body instead of towards my middle. Just works better for me. I have also EDC'd the PD, Novatac, HDS, Gatlight, Lioncub, Chameleon, Alephs and others this way.

Paul, I've ordered three of them in the past two years. They have taken roughly between two and five weeks to arrive IIRC. The price has gone up about two bucks too. But they still are a excellent value, imo. I don't know what the leather is treated with but it stands up to sweat, weather and abrasion better than any leather I've tried.
