Rebel Mag 2D guts in Mag 2C?

I have one of the new Rebel Mag 2D flashlights. I like it. A big improvement on the previous version. However, I like the form factor of the Mag 2C. Is it easy (or possible) to take the LED module out of the 2D and install it into the 2C? Has anyone done this?

The new Rebel Mags are not built the same. Many of the components (such as the light module) are not interchangeable with the older incan version.

Right, but can the whole thing be detached from the 2D switch, and reattached to the 2C switch, then swap reflectors? I'm not familiar with the switch/tower and how it's all connected.

No, there are too many differences in sizing. I imagine it could be done, if you HAD to have it... Wait 'till around June, the C cell lights will be out.

Yep, there are just too many differences between the older style maglites and these new rebel maglites. If you don't want to wait for the rebels to find themselves into other maglites besides the D cells, you can always get yourself a 2 cell magLED module and swap the luxeon III with a seoul P4.
