Removing ceramic isolation of a D2S

The cermaic isolation take around 30° from the beam.

Is the isolation may be necessary?

I'm ussing a steel reflector from a Black & Decker Vector H3 100Watt version Spotlight with the original opening from the H3 bulb.

I have removed the ceramic isolation from every HID
I have or have ever owned with out a problem.

You will be very pleased with the results, Just be carefull
not to break the wire under the ceramic. A solder blob
would look very bad aswell.

I useualy use a pair of linesmen plier's as the jaws never
meet and reduse the chance of breaking the wire.
