In a previous thread, I was asking about putting a rheostat type device on $40 Brinkman hunting spotlight in ordert to dim it down/up.
Well, lctorana burst my bubble and I am guessing it isn't that simple.
So, let me explain the whole idea and maybe some of you on here will be able to help me.
As previously stated, I am using this light for predator hunting. It works great and already has the red lense filter on it and I am very comfetable.
It says it is "3 million candle power:candle:" but I know it is no where near. Plenty bright for night hunting in most cases. To bright on very dark nights and little to no ambian light sources.
I am trying to devise a way to hook up a rheostat device to it and was thinking, after lctorana brought up the main issue of "6V, 55W H3 bulb like many are, you would need a 0.33 ohm, 30 watt rheostat", that perhaps I can drop in a 100W 12 V bulb and there would be readily available rheostats that could be wired in near the handle of the spotlight.
In other words...I have absolutly no idea what I can and can not do, but you get the idea of what I am trying to do.
Advice requested....other than buying a new light.
Thanks,
