I started this review a long time ago, shortly after receiving the lights in question, then other things came up and I never completed it. I decided to complete it now because it was mostly ready and just needed some retouching and filling in, and hey, more information about existing lights is always better than less information, right?

Nice review! I have that original MXDL light. It is still in my jean's coin pocket and I love it. I had paid $12 when it first came out. It is still the smallest *cheap* 123 light. Your alternate recommendation is little larger but also looks sturdier.

I would like you to review more lights.

They both came from that magical place known as DealExtreme, where electronic gadgets grow on trees. All they have to do is pluck them and send them off, hence their incredible cheapness.
